CSAP has come to an end, well until next year I guess. Personally, I think CSAP is kind of fun, we have a nice easy to deal with schedule, no homework and shortened classes. However I think that the time we have to test should be changed, while doing the science CSAP, I saw that half the class was done with like forty minutes to go and I think that’s ridiculous, there’s no point in sitting in a desk longer than we actually do the test. Also, I don’t like the fact that we get our reports on how well we did like three months later, by then we have no recollection of any of the questions we answered. It would also be nice if they could release the answers to us so we could know what we did wrong. It’s not like they use the same test over and over again year after year. For the most part, I think the Discovery teachers prepared us well for the test. I had no difficulty with the Math, Reading, or Writing tests. The Science was kind of different, some of the things on there were not like the things we learned in Science(I’m not saying Mrs. Chenoweth is a bad teacher, but that we didn’t go over some things we should have). It was frustrating at times because we hadn’t gone in to depth about some subjects. Well CSAP is done and will continue next year. I hope I get a quadruple advance

I watched the Mavs and Suns game. The Suns are my favorite team so it's always fun to watch them. While the Mavericks have been almost invincible this season with a 50-9 record. The Dallas Mavericks were the favorites in this game, they have one of the best home records and a incredible backcourt with Dirk Nowitzki, Josh Howard, and Eric Dampier. Not to mention Devin Harris and Jason Terry, an amazing front court duo. However it is always a challenge to play against the ever so fast Suns team. With a high power offense, the Suns have the best lineup in the league including two time MVP Steve Nash, the amazing Amare Stoudamire, the Matrix Shawn Marion, and excellent shooters in Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Raja Bell, and James Jones. The Suns and Mavericks games have always been fun to watch but who knew that this game would go into Double OT. Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire erupted for a combined 73 points, 17 assists, and 18 rebounds… that's amazing. Both teams shot 55% from the field. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and the veteran Jerry Stackhouse combined for 90 points. Eric Dampier was a beast with 11 rebounds, all offensive. Josh Howard added 19 points and 9 rebounds. The Mavericks had to play deep into their bench with the loss of Devin Harris early along with Devin George who was injured the previous game. The Suns lineup also did extremely well, Raja had 11, Marion had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots, Barbosa added 17 points off the bench, and James Jones put on a show with 9 points hitting 3 of 4 from 3 point range. Although the Suns played exceptionally well on the offensive end, they played horrible on defense allowing the Mavericks 27 offensive rebounds. The Suns got out rebounded 55 to 38. With less than 10 seconds left the Mavs were up 3 but Steve Nash pulls up for a 3 and misses then Shawn Marion gets the offensive board and passes to Nash who drains the 3 for 2.6 seconds left in regulation and ties the game. The Mavs fail to win the game and the game goes to overtime. The Suns dominate until there is about 30 seconds left, and then Jason Terry comes out and hits a huge 3 to tie the game once again. Barbosa can't hit the layup to win the game, so it goes to double OT. Amare Stoudamire continues to dominate down low, with 10 seconds left in the game, Dirk has a chance to tie the game but comes up short. The Suns take it in double OT. The Mavs only have a 3 game lead over the Suns for the 1st spot in the Western Conference. The game was won by the combined effort from Amare and Nash. This is a game to remember, I can't wait to see these two high powered offenses meet in the playoffs.

I also agree that paper is somewhat out of date, it is a destroyable source. For instance it can get wet and dirty, and can just sit in your locker for the whole year(I’ve had this experience), or even a dog can eat it. I’m not saying that any of the above are likely to happen but paper is easy to lose and hard to organize. It would be much easier to keep your documents on a computer and digitally turn them in. Looking at it from a nature point of view, we could save millions of trees, and make our world into more of an ideal world, green and good fragrances in the air. I’m okay with paper still being used but I think we should use less of it and really take advantage of the technology that is sitting in front of us. I bet 95% of the students in Cresthill have access to a computer in their house and only 20% actually use it for educational purposes. There are also good things about paper, for instance you can take it anywhere, and that is definitely and advantage. If you’re a scientist and keeping a journal, you would definitely prefer paper over a computer. There are definitely ups and downs to both sides, but looking at it from a educational point of view, I’d take the computer.

This year’s all start weekend was a lot better than last years, especially the dunk contest. Last year Nate Robinson beat Andre Iguodala in the slam dunk contest because he got 20+ tries, this year they put a two minute time limit and then the contestants got two attempts after the two minutes to complete the dunk. The contestants in the slam dunk contest this year were Gerald Green, Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson, and Tyrus Thomas. Nate Robinson and Gerald Green advanced to the second round. Nate took all of his two minutes to try and complete his dunk and failed miserably, he managed to complete it on his 2nd try after regulation, I give him props considering hes like shorter than me(I’m 5′9) , while Gerald green jumped over a table on his first try. It was pretty obvious that Gerald Green would kill Nate Robinson. This year’s playstation skills challenge was pretty lame, the contestents were LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, and Chris Paul. Lebron looked like he was falling asleep while he did it, I mean he has so many commercials and shoes that he doesn’t even have to try in the contest. Chris Paul did really poorly for some reason. Dwayne Wade ended up beating Kobe for a second consecutive title. This contest is really nothing without Steve Nash. Next year I hope to see D-wade and Steve Nash to make a fight for the title. The 3-point shoot out was probably the best part this year, I was disappointed to not see Ray Allen there, because he is the best 3-point shooter out there. Kapono was great, he tied the record in the 2nd round and killed Gilbert Arenas and Dirk Nowitzki. The players who win this contest are not necasarily the best shooters in the league, this contest is more of a luck factor, because if NBA players get hot, they can hit 50 3’s straight. The funniest part of this years weekend was the Dick Bavetta and Charles Barkley, Bavetta is like 67 years old and still a referee, and Charles Barkley, the half a ton hall of famer. It was hilarious to watch these two. I’ll look at this years later and laugh it off, this was the funniest thing ever. The all star game was just as cool as any year, the west completely smoked the east. There were some pretty sweet dunks too, I wish T-mac could have played more. Kobe was kind of a ball hog but hey its the all star game, its the time for players to be selfish right? I personally enjoyed watching it, not to mention the SI swimsuit edition show was right after :O *cough* It will be fun to see how well the teams do in the second half of the season.

The most improved player in the NBA in my opinion is either Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz or Nene on the nuggets. Nene is a beast this year, he can literally dunk over anybody and he is more energized than ever, I think he’s even more of a presence than AI or Carmelo in some games. Nene is probably one of my favorite players right now because he gives you 100 percent in every game. I do agree with a lot of the ESPN sports people that Carmelo and AI cannot win a title but I do think the Nuggets as a team have a huge chance, if guys like JR Smith, Nene, Camby, Kleiza, Najera, Blake, and hopefully even K-mart can step up, then the Nuggets are up there with the Suns and Mavericks. The Nuggets have probably the best team ever in the history of the team. As for Deron Williams, he has made the Jazz the team they are today, a lot of people say that Carlos Boozer is the reason the Jazz are good now, but that’s not true, it is because of Deron. He finds his teammates similar to the style of Steve Nash and John Stockton, maybe not as dominant. This guy has improved the performances of Mehmet Okur, Boozer, and Kirilenko. He is third in the league in assists, and has doubled in points per game since last year. I am almost positive that a team from the Western Conferece will win the title this year, there are like 6 contenders in the west: Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Denver, Utah, and the Lakers. There are like one, maybe two in the east: Detroit and Washington. The NBA this year is similar to the NFL because the Western Conference is so much more dominant than the Eastern like the AFC is compared to the NFC. The NBA gets funner to watch every year because younger players are becoming better shooters over the years. If Wilt Chamberlain were to play today, he’d probably only be able to get 15 a game compared to his 50 a game in the 60’s.

I’m going to have to go with either Miami, Cleveland, or Washington from the East, and Dallas, Pheonix, or Houston from the West. I think the most interesting combination of teams would be Pheonix and Washington, two high scoring fast break teams. One thing to point out is that some of the worst teams in the NBA from last year have jumped up towards the top like Toronto and Orlando, the spurs and detroit years are over in my opinion, it’s time for a new group of winners. The spurs are getting old as Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, and Tony Parker start decapitating(not really). The Pistons have lost Ben Wallace to the Bulls and many people say that Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups are the best players on that team but I think Ben Wallace was. He was the defense of that team, they will have to work into a new type of playing style if they are looking towards another championship. It will be fun to see how it all plays out in the end.

It could be interpereted that I did not learn anything in Language Arts this quarter but that is not true. Being in Mr. Wilkoff’s class means a different learning style that many of us probably have never experience before prior to middle school. We spend half of our time in Language Arts on computers, whether it’s blogging about ourselves or even writing book reviews. All 4 of the discovery language arts classes work together to make each other’s writing better, we grow as a group. Although our style of learning is sometimes distracting, I think our learning styles is just as good or better as any advanced language arts class.

Who is the MVP of the first half of the NBA this year? Well I’ve basically narrowed it down to 2 players, Steve Nash, who has been MVP the last two years and Gilbert Arenas, who I have lost count of how many game winning shots he’s had this year. Both of these players have been amazing. Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns are 36-9 and are tied for 1st in the west and Arenas and the Wizards are 26-17 and lead the east. One could argue that these players have stars that play around them like Steve Nash has Amare Stoudamire, Boris Diaw, and Shawn Marion. While Arenas has Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler, the best trio in the NBA. These two players unique playing styles have exceled this year, and there are no more deserving players than these two.

Other candidates include Carlos Boozer, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwayne Wade, Yao Ming, and Koby Bryant. In my opinion I do see Steve Nash going for number three.

There was a post earlier today about this subject, but I wanted to go into it as well. Many people think that Carmelo, Dwade, and Lebron are the best players in that draft but I disagree, personally I like Chris Bosh on the Toronto Raptors. He is having an amazing year and is highly underrated. Averaging 21 ppg and 11 rebounds, he’s also forcing .5 steals a game and 1.3 blocks a game. Another aspect that most people don’t see is that Chris Bosh turns the ball over a lot less than the other three players. Carmelo, Lebron, and Dwade are great but I like Chris Bosh and personally I think he helps his team the most. Carmelo has AI and Camby, Dwade has Shaq, Lebron has Igualskas, but who does Bosh really have, he is the reason the Raptors are in the race for their division. Although the Raptors aren’t a finals contending team, I do see them making the playoffs and possibly making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Here is a comparison of the 4 players including Points, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage, steals, blocks, turnovers, and their team’s record.

Chris Bosh- 21.6ppg, 11.1rpg, 2.apg, .488 fg, .5spg, 1.3bpg, 2.97 TO, Teams Record 20-22

Carmelo Anthony- 31.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 4.2apg, .498 fg, 1.4spg, .04bpg, 3.78 TO, Teams Record 21-17

Dwayne Wade- 28.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 7.9apg, .481fg, 2.0spg, 1.2bpg, 4.03 TO, Teams Record 19-22

No, this is a stupid move, you trade one of the fastest and most talented guys in the league for a mere 6 ppg guy. Especially with the dynamic speed Earl Boykins and Allen Iverson put on the court, this is probably the most controversial move of the year. All I can say is that the Nuggets just lost a great guard and gained an average one.

One of my mom’s friends gave me a copy of Left Behind for Christmas, it is supposivley a Christian related bestseller. The book is about the rapture where Jesus Christ comes back and takes the true believers to heaven and leaves the non-believers behind. Among the main characters are Cameron “Buck” Williams, who works for one of the largest magazine companies in the world, Global Weekly and Rayford Steele, a middle aged pilot. People suddenly start dissappearing and their clothes and even wedding rings and necklaces are the only things left. It suddenly becomes a world crisis. Although I have only read half the book, it is turning out to be a excellent story.

The broncos have now lost four games straight, Mike Shanahan claims that he is not playing veteran Jake Plummer because he cannot get the Broncos to the superbowl, but starting a rookie late in the season, is that smart? Wouldn’t it be better to clinch a playoff spot and then play Jay Cutler and decide who the new starting quarterback is from there. Although Jay Cutler is amazing, Mike Shanahan’s decision has cause the Broncos to not make the playoffs and possibly a losing season. Here is my most recent playoff prediciton…

It’s interesting that Vladek is so conservative ever since the war is over, he is so careful about not wasting things even like matches, he has basically learned to be a genius financially, when he buys another mouses shirt and saves it to get soup, I mean who thinks of that, I’d be suprised to see him die from the war. Vladek is so much more intelligent at survival than any other mouse there, whether its earning food or making alliances with the pigs or helping out the cats. Vladek gets more and more selfish throughout the book, at first he seems eagar to share food with random mouses, but near the end you see him basically just watching them die as if they’re not equals to him. Even as he tells Art his story, he seems careless to anybody besides his family. The Holocaust drastsically changed Vladeks life…

You always here that people like former presidents catch serious diseases or relocate to another part of the country, but truly who really cares? Other then George Washington and a few others, presidents just go down the history books. People in our generations would rather hear about Angelina Jolie getting a haircut or Peyton Manning throwing for 500 yards in a game than things like governors getting elected. I must admit, I’d much rather be looking at a picture of Angelina Jolie than reading a long, pointless(to me) article about politics. There are two forms of fame, one is that everyone knows you, and the other is that people actually care about what you do. When you think of the white house, you think of Bush not Cheney, when you think of looney tunes, Bugs Bunny over Daffy Duck, Peyton Manning over Marvin Harrison and so on. Is it really that important to be famous or the person everyone wanted to be if you’ll be forgotten in the next decade?

Denver is looking pretty good this year, coming off from a 3rd seed in the playoffs last season but sadly losing to Elton Brand and the clippers in the first round. The Nuggets may have started the season 0-3 but have won two straight, and have a very good chance of taking down the champions, the Miami Heat with D-Wade and Shaq. With a variety of players, old and new, veterans and rookies, tall and short. They have an excellent roster like Carmelo Anthony, JR Smith, Joe Smith, Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby, Andre Miller, and Earl Boykins, the Nuggets look like they are a NBA finals contender. Last year the nuggets had a lot of trouble from beyond the arch but this year they’ve got JR Smith who knocked down four of them in the Bobcats game. Fouls shouldn’t be a problem either, because you have a lot of big guys, so when your posting up against players like Yao Ming, Shaq, and even Amare Stoudamire, you can sparingly use your fouls without the feeling that you need to pay a full forty-eight minutes. I can see the Nuggets getting over 50 W’s for the third season in a row and once again making the playoffs.

Here’s my prediction for the NBA playoffs.

West
1.San Antonio
2.Phoenix
3.Denver
4.Houson
5.Dallas
6.Los Angeles Clippers
7.New Orleans
8.Los Angeles Lakers

East
1.Cleveland
2.Miami
3.Philidelphia
4.Chicago
5.New Jersey
6.Indiana
7.Detroit
8.Orlando

I thought helamanswarrior100 and nephiteforce2’s greatest NFL teams was very creative, however it is a bit late for me to put who I think will do the best this year seeing as the season is half over, I can make predictions on how the playoffs will be and better yet who will win the superbowl. Take a look how I predict the NFL will end up this year:(Records are as of 11/8/06)

NFC

East- New York Giants(6-2)

North- Chicago Bears(7-1)

South- Carolina Panthers(4-4, I can’t see a Steve Smith team not win there devision there down by 2 games but I think they will pull through, not to mention Keshawn Johnson)

West- The NFC champs of last year, the Seattle Seahawks(5-3, although the seahawks have the same number of losses so far this year as they had the whole last season, I think Shawn Alexander will recover and lead these guys far into the playoffs. The Madden Curse is crazy :P)

Wildcards- I’m going to have to go with the Dallas Cowboys(4-4) and Atlanta Falcons(5-3), Terrell Owens has lost his dancing moves and elegance but he can still catch, everyone likes a rebel who can score touchdowns right, Bledsoe will be back sooner or later, and the Cowboys are in decent shape as of now. As for the Falcons, You’ve got Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn, who get the running yardage every team desires. Vick can also throw on the run this year, there a threat.

Honorable Mentions- New Orleans Saints and Philidelphia Eagles

AFC (my favorite conference of course :))

East- New England Patriots(6-2, the pats may have lost Dion Branch and a lot of players but there still hot, Tom Brady is unargueably in the top 3 for quarterbacks in the league, and there offensive line is pretty nice. New England won’t be out of the playoffs for some years to come.)

North- Cincinatti Bengals(4-4, probably my favorite team, the bengals have a huge shot cause they have a quick healing Carson Palmer, the unevitable Chad Johnson with his dances, and TJ, the bengals were basically the only team to shootout with the powerhouse colts last year, watch out for them in the playoffs.)

South- Indianapolis Colts(8-0, the colts look invulnerable as they were last year, they may be lucky 16 this year, Peyton Manning, who is probably the best fantasy player you can get and with a set of great recievers in Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison, they may have lost the edge to the cardinals but I’d gladly bet my bank that these guys will go to the playoffs.)

West- Denver Broncos(6-2, I’d probably get shot if I didn’t say they would make it, lots of contreversy has been put upon Jake Plummer but he is still a excellent quarterback, with great recievers and great backs, this team might be looking at another era.

Wildcards- I’g going to have to go with the Ravens(6-2) and the Chiefs(5-3), Ravens look as rejuvanated as ever, they are a solid team and are likely to make the playoffs. All I can say about the Chiefs is LJ, he’s a beast, he had what like 1600 yards in 9 games last year, and he was a back up to Priest Holmes :O.

and the moment you’ve been waiting for… The Superbowl Contender, I’m going to have to go with the Colts, Peyton Manning and his receivers are insane this year, they may very well go 16-0.

Disclaimer: I have never actually tried any of the following, don’t take me as a cheap person, anyway I hope you enjoy my writing…

Anyway, I think movie security is a piece of s***, there are multiple ways of getting into movie theatres without paying, for example the one by Park Meadows Mall. I’ve found out that if you’re in a large group, the employee who checks to see if you have your tickets doesn’t bother to even count if you have enough tickets, he’s on an hourly wage so it doesn’t really matter to him, so you can basically float with a large group and get in for free. Another way to get in is to go up to the employee and simply tell them that you left a personal object in one of their theatres, and if they ask you for a reciept (most do not because no offence but the majority are pretty careless) and “bam” your in. Also, another thing you can do is buy a ticket and spend the whole day there watching different movies. The easiest way to get in is probably the back door though, you get someone to buy their ticket and then open the back door for you and your friends. Also movie theatres are pretty stupid if you ask me, they ask for age identification for rated R movies but you can just buy a ticket to another movie and go in the R movie (I never have, my mom would have made me extinct by now if I had) and yet again nobody is watching the door. There are so many ways you can scam a movie theater it is not even funny. If movie theatres were the slightest bit more organized, they’d be gaining a total of millions of dollars more each year.

Running in the Cougar Prowl this year was a great experience, at some points during the race you fell so confident that you can gallop your way through the trails like a horse while other times you feel so tired that you need to stop and breath through your exhausted lungs. To tell you the truth, I was not expecting to get third place, at times I felt I would just stop and walk the rest of the way, but something was pushing me, as if I would be ashamed of myself if I didn’t finish the race, my legs were numb and the sweat running down my neck was dripping on to the ground, a puddle of exhaustion. Then I saw something, the people in front me were sprinting, that told me that the race was almost over, I looked back to gain some more confidence and ruthlessly used the remains of my energy to finish the race, “long strides” a friend said, and then I finished, now I truly knew that it was worth going on when I was about to give up. I felt good about myself but I knew not to get too cocky and brag my head off. I thought to myself it was a race not easily finished and I had done it, I hope that in the future I continue to strive for my goals. That day I truly learned, hard work always pays off.

Introduction

I, Lucius Holmes the third, have been sent to sea by the King of Spain to sail to the land of riches. My grandfather was a crew member on Christopher Columbus’s voyage to the new world, he was one of the few living survivors that traveled back to Europe. He started a cartography and sailing academy where he taught until he was too old to walk. He taught my father who inherited his academy when my grandfather passed away, my father followed my grandfather’s footsteps teaching young men to become sailors and mapmakers. He then fell in love with a waitress at the local bar, they got married and had a child, me. My father was also getting old, there were thoughts that I would inherit his academy but I didn’t want to follow my family’s tradition, I wanted an adventure, and that is exactly what I was about to get.

June 17th, 1562

The king said he would supply me with all the supplies I need and pay for my voyage, he told me I needed a crew, I had three ships that would hold two hundred and fifty sailors. I went to the bar my mother used to work before she married my father, and announced that I was looking for hard working sailors and that the pay would be enormous, however I truly did not know that, but I thought, if I were to die on this journey, it wouldn’t matter if the sailor’s wanted my head. It was like a win-win situation for me, well not exactly win-win but I wouldn’t lose anything, there would only be room to gain. It took the whole afternoon to recruit my crew, I hired some of the most famous sailors of the seven seas, like First Mate Focker Jones, who had many voyages to the new world for trade purposes. I went back to my home and went to bed, the only thought was that I would either become the wealthiest man in Europe or the biggest debtor to ever live, I didn’t sleep soundly that night.

June 18th, 1562

We started loading all our supplies on to the ships, all our food, hygiene supplies, rum, maps, and a lot of other things. It was enough to last months, but nearly half of the voyages in the last year were failiures, every second was making me more nervous, the sweat down my neck started to frighten me, I started to have second thoughts about whether I wanted to go on this voyage, but I knew it was too late to back down now. It was time to go, I grabbed all my stuff and put it in the captain’s cabin, it was well organized and well furnished, at least I would have a nice place to sleep. All the sailors wives were out on the dock giving them last minute kisses and hugs. I looked at the sailors, the grins on their faces, I knew I was betraying them, nearly half of them would be dead men, I felt like a monster, it was as if I were a murderer. I have sinned and God will take it out on me, but we must set sail now.

August 23rd, 1562

We have been on the journey for about sixty days now, it has been a hard journey, nearly half my men have died of hunger and sickness. Our meat is full of diseases, I taste nausea each bite I take, I feel as I have to puke over the side of the ship. Although I do not want to admit it, I think all my crew will die in a matter of days we have not seen land in a very long time, we have forgotten the smell of women, the taste of cooked food, sight of happiness. I am suprised that my crew has not rebeled on me yet. They are loyal men, there is only one liar on this ship and that is me. I owe these men my life, but the only they will earn is death, they will not die by their loved ones, they will die a painful death knowing that their captain is a low life. I go to my cabin and cry, I have not cried this hard ever, the regret I have is so great that I have almost lost to will to live. I pray to God that he will save these men.

September 9th 1562

We are low on food now, our number have shrinked big time. There is scurvy on the ship, it spreads as I write, the days are growing darker, each day is more miserable, I have dreadful headaches every day, God is cursing me I can feel it.

September 17th 1562

We are now down to twenty men and one ship, our food is growing scarce and I have thoughts of comitting suicide. I want to die with these men if I cannot save them, I owe them things money cannot pay, death is around the corner, it’s only a matter of time.

September 21st 1562

I am in my bed, my throat is swollen, I am about to die, but then I hear the two words “Land Ho,” one of my men comes to my cabin and tells me that we have arrived to the land of riches, I see smiles on the sailors faces, these men can prosper in riches, and so can… (the captain suddenly faints and perishes, he was born into a rich family and died a loyal man.

Winning the 400 Individual Medley was one of the biggest things in my life but the award ceremony is even more important, I mean whats the point of the Olympics without medals. I stand on the podium with my fellow competitors, the sight is incredible, thousands of people are in front of me cheering, then the announcer starts talking, he walks over and awards me my medal, the shiny gold attracts my eyes, its the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. This is truly the greatest moment of my life, next the Canadian national anthem starts playing, a woman in a high voice starts singing “Oh Canada,” now I know that all of my hard work has payed off. Once I get to my hotel, my parents and friends massacred the hotel phone with calls to congratulate me, my day is almost over, I decide to go to sleep, it’s probably the most peaceful night ever.

Finally, at last I am here at the Olympics, its been hard work but Im finally here. I am just about to compete in the 400 meter Individual Medley, it’s going to be the event of my life, my veins are pumping blood faster and faster, I can feel myself getting handed a medal. I get on the block and relax my arms out, I know that I’ll have to get a lead on the fly leg if I want a shot at gold. I hear the official call out “Take ur mark,” shortly he fires his gun, I leap out forward and start dolphin kicking like crazy, I am in second after the butterfly leg, I have a turn into backstroke, I am in third place after that leg, then it’s my favorite and most dominant stroke, the breast. I lunge my body forward, I accidently swallow the water, it tastes bitter but somewhat pushes me to win the race, I get a lead after the breaststroke leg, now it’s what matters most, the freestyle, I rotate my arms and legs faster than ever before, I start to lose energy but I know I just have to hold it for a matter of seconds more, I see the wall. It all comes down to this, I reach forward with what energy is left inside me, I’ve done it, I got the gold by two miliseconds. My body is weak and I feel as I am about to faint, once I step out of the pool I hear the people in the bleachers screaming, this is the happiest moment of my life.

It all started after dinner on a typical Saturday night, my parents were watching television, my brother was watching me play video games and my sister was playing with her dolls. Then, the phone suddenly rang, I answered it, a man in a deep voice asked for my parents, I gave the phone to my mom, moments later she told the rest of the family that she and my dad had won two free tickets to a concert. I knew what was coming next, they would ask me to babysit my siblings, but theres always a catch, they knew that, I’m not that nice. I knew that they were desperate for me seeing as this concert was only in Denver for three days. So I decided to make them give me an extravagent pay, first they offered me four dollars an hour, I said more, they made multiple offers with me until we came to agreement at seventeen dollars and hour. It would be a two hour drive there and back and the concert lasted three hours long. So I would make seventy-two dollars, I was happy as ever, seeing as I got a great job out of dirt. My parents left shortly, my brother and I continued playing video games while my sister was drawing near by, oh great I have to use the restroom, I paused the game and ran into the bathroom, when I came back, I noticed my sister was gone, oh no, I hollered her name, my brother and me scrambled to find her, we looked all over the house. I knew that I’d rather be grounded than have my sister in danger, I called my parent’s cell and told them what happened, they were scared, I don’t blame them. They said we would talk later, I knew what that meant, my life was over. I sat on he couch in our living room terrified with my head down. An hour passed, my parents would be home any minute now, then the doorbell rang, I told my brother to get it, my brother started jumping up and down, it was my sister, my parents were about to come home, my siblings and I
