CSAP is done…

March 19th, 2007 by c4d1ll4c

CSAP has come to an end, well until next year I guess. Personally, I think CSAP is kind of fun, we have a nice easy to deal with schedule, no homework and shortened classes. However I think that the time we have to test should be changed, while doing the science CSAP, I saw that half the class was done with like forty minutes to go and I think that’s ridiculous, there’s no point in sitting in a desk longer than we actually do the test. Also, I don’t like the fact that we get our reports on how well we did like three months later, by then we have no recollection of any of the questions we answered. It would also be nice if they could release the answers to us so we could know what we did wrong. It’s not like they use the same test over and over again year after year. For the most part, I think the Discovery teachers prepared us well for the test. I had no difficulty with the Math, Reading, or Writing tests. The Science was kind of different, some of the things on there were not like the things we learned in Science(I’m not saying Mrs. Chenoweth is a bad teacher, but that we didn’t go over some things we should have). It was frustrating at times because we hadn’t gone in to depth about some subjects. Well CSAP is done and will continue next year. I hope I get a quadruple advance :)

Recap Mavericks and Suns game

March 15th, 2007 by c4d1ll4c

I watched the Mavs and Suns game. The Suns are my favorite team so it's always fun to watch them. While the Mavericks have been almost invincible this season with a 50-9 record. The Dallas Mavericks were the favorites in this game, they have one of the best home records and a incredible backcourt with Dirk Nowitzki, Josh Howard, and Eric Dampier. Not to mention Devin Harris and Jason Terry, an amazing front court duo. However it is always a challenge to play against the ever so fast Suns team. With a high power offense, the Suns have the best lineup in the league including two time MVP Steve Nash, the amazing Amare Stoudamire, the Matrix Shawn Marion, and excellent shooters in Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Raja Bell, and James Jones. The Suns and Mavericks games have always been fun to watch but who knew that this game would go into Double OT. Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire erupted for a combined 73 points, 17 assists, and 18 rebounds… that's amazing. Both teams shot 55% from the field. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and the veteran Jerry Stackhouse combined for 90 points. Eric Dampier was a beast with 11 rebounds, all offensive. Josh Howard added 19 points and 9 rebounds. The Mavericks had to play deep into their bench with the loss of Devin Harris early along with Devin George who was injured the previous game. The Suns lineup also did extremely well, Raja had 11, Marion had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots, Barbosa added 17 points off the bench, and James Jones put on a show with 9 points hitting 3 of 4 from 3 point range. Although the Suns played exceptionally well on the offensive end, they played horrible on defense allowing the Mavericks 27 offensive rebounds. The Suns got out rebounded 55 to 38. With less than 10 seconds left the Mavs were up 3 but Steve Nash pulls up for a 3 and misses then Shawn Marion gets the offensive board and passes to Nash who drains the 3 for 2.6 seconds left in regulation and ties the game. The Mavs fail to win the game and the game goes to overtime. The Suns dominate until there is about 30 seconds left, and then Jason Terry comes out and hits a huge 3 to tie the game once again. Barbosa can't hit the layup to win the game, so it goes to double OT. Amare Stoudamire continues to dominate down low, with 10 seconds left in the game, Dirk has a chance to tie the game but comes up short. The Suns take it in double OT. The Mavs only have a 3 game lead over the Suns for the 1st spot in the Western Conference. The game was won by the combined effort from Amare and Nash. This is a game to remember, I can't wait to see these two high powered offenses meet in the playoffs.
