MAUS II ANALYSIS

December 5th, 2006 by c4d1ll4c

It’s interesting that Vladek is so conservative ever since the war is over, he is so careful about not wasting things even like matches, he has basically learned to be a genius financially, when he buys another mouses shirt and saves it to get soup, I mean who thinks of that, I’d be suprised to see him die from the war. Vladek is so much more intelligent at survival than any other mouse there, whether its earning food or making alliances with the pigs or helping out the cats. Vladek gets more and more selfish throughout the book, at first he seems eagar to share food with random mouses, but near the end you see him basically just watching them die as if they’re not equals to him. Even as he tells Art his story, he seems careless to anybody besides his family. The Holocaust drastsically changed Vladeks life…
